If you found your way here, you must be interested in what happens between a person and God – that person may be you and God may not be the word you use for the Divine. You are curious about spiritual direction or about finding a spiritual director. Well, you are welcome here. Solace is for people like you. Curious. Tenacious. Sometimes a bit cranky. Sometimes brave. Mostly ordinary.

We are ordinary, too. A small crew of contemplatives who have a particular curiousity towards, and love for, the significance of ordinary lives, ordinary suffering, ordinary joys, and listening with you to God who speaks in small, ordinary things that only you would notice.

We, Fran, Vic and Kris, founded Solace in 2008 to offer personal spiritual direction, supervision, guided retreats, quiet days, staff and leadership retreats and creative spiritual practices workshops. We are spiritual directors, one is also a nurse, one is a pastor, one is a formator of spiritual directors. We like good poems, coloured pencils, a lively rugby game, glue sticks and magazines, the Bible, podcasts and people. We like prayer in its many-splendoured forms. We believe God is nice and likes us, which is a bigger deal than it might seem.
