Real talk for real pastors

Solace’s For Pastors is hosted by Vic Francis, who combines his background in journalism with decades of pastoring, national church leadership and practising as a supervisor and spiritual director to champion pastors and their holy calling in an uncertain world.

It’s tough being a pastor. And while we have leaders’ conferences, church growth books and training programmes aplenty, there is little that specifically supports pastors in the grind.

As part of the solution, For Pastors explores issues pastors face and hears from well-known and lesser-known Kiwi pastors for collective wisdom and inspiration.

Vic is passionate about supporting pastors and church leaders, and offers For Pastors to inspire, encourage and help them keep saying yes to the call of God on their lives.

S02, E05: Ministry, Money and Me

It’s an episode all of us need to hear, even if it might be a little uncomfortable at times. Patricia, who calls herself an unlikely warrior, is inspirational and confronting in equal measures.

S02 E03: Making Friends out of Conflict

Conflict. It’s all around us – on the world stage, in our families and workplaces, often deep within ourselves.

And it’s in our churches – from the volume of the music to centuries-old theological debates.

Yet we hardly ever talk about conflict, and as a result we often do it pretty badly.

In this podcast, Vic Francis talks to the Rev Dr Karen Kemp from Laidlaw College, an expert in conflict, to find out how we can handle it better.
